When your world is filled with robots, vampires, Klingons and evil wizards, you definitely need a drink.
Today marks the American release of The World's End, the latest collaboration between director Edgar Wright and stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, and this time they're hitting the pubs hard looking for a pint (or 12). The World's End is definitely more beer-centered than most sci-fi stories, but it's far from the only one to depict the simple pleasure of a good brew.
So before you go have a pint with Wright, Pegg, Frost and company, take a look at some of our favorite fictional beers from throughout sci-fi film and television.

Benderbrau from Futurama: Straight from the stomach of a robot who definitely knows his booze.

Butterbeer from Harry Potter: It's not clear what effect this stuff has on humans who imbibe too...

Arcanis Lager from Star Trek III: The Search for Spock: Because sometimes you want something less...

Boa Beer from Neon Genesis Evangelion: After a hard day piloting an Evangelion, nothing's more...

Pabst Blue Robot from Futurama: It's not quite beer brewed by Bender himself, but it's close enough.

Cerveza Chango from From Dusk Till Dawn and Sin City: This devilish brew makes cameos in various...

Dharma Beer from Lost: Drink enough and you'll completely forget you're stranded on an island.

Duff Beer from The Simpsons: Duff Man's superpower is always keeping a six pack of this stuff handy.

The Green Dragon's beer from The Lord of the Rings: It's the only brew for the brave and true. And...

Leopard Lager from Red Dwarf: When you're stuck in space three million years in the future,...

Lobrau from Futurama: Whether you're in New York or New New York, you'll always be able to find...

Romulan Ale from Star Trek: Even Federation embargoes won't stop fans of this blue brew from...

Warnog Ale from Star Trek: You can keep your Romulan ale. Real Klingons drink Warnog.
