The audience at Thursday's taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live! got an unexpected surprise when Spider-Man star Tom Holland showed up. While the show will air tonight, the clip has already made it to YouTube, with Kimmel's trusty stagehand, Guillermo Rodriguez, running around wearing a Spider-Man mask.
After the 'real' Spider-Man showed up, wearing an orange traffic cone to mask his identity, he demanded his mask back. As Kimmel jokingly tried to break up the tussle, the traffic cone came off to reveal none other than Holland himself.
While Holland got a surge of applause, he appeared to be wearing a new, stealthier version of the Stark suit he first got in Captain America: Civil War. We've seen glimpses of this suit on some candid production photos, but this is the first time we've seen the black on red ensemble up close and in action.
It's not known exactly how the suit will come into play, since other photos indicate he'll still be sporting the classic red and blue number in other scenes.
Once Holland gets his mask back, he tells Kimmel that he needs to make it back to set, working in an easy plug for next summer's Spider-Man: Far From Home, which takes the wall-crawler out of New York and across Europe.
After Kimmel asks Holland how that works, considering his character turned into "black confetti" at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, Holland nervously explained that Thanos was robbing a bank because he's poor, before quickly shuffling off the stage.
We'll see how this new, stealthier outfit comes into play until Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 5th next year. What do you think of the new Spider-suit? Let us know in the comments.
