Get ready for the world of superspys, sleeper agents, deadly missions, and behavior modification to be "Bourne" again on your television screens. The fictional CIA black ops program called Operation Treadstone is coming to the small screen.

According to Variety, a show based on the fictional organization from the Jason Bourne franchise has been ordered by the USA Network. The show will be, appropriately, titled Treadstone. We guess the names Alias and Spy Guys Inc. were already taken.

The new series should be of interest to genre audiences, as it will feature all of the superhuman assassin action that the Bourne movies do. Variety reports that the first season will follow sleeper agents all around the world being mysteriously awakened, before having to engage in deadly missions.

The new show is set to begin production in 2019, and will be written and executive produced by Heroes and Beyond creator Tim Kring. The pilot will be directed by Ramin Bahrani, who will also serve as an executive producer. Chris McCumber, the president of entertainment networks for NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, (USA Network and SYFY WIRE are both owned by NBCUniversal) was quoted as saying, “As the #1 cable entertainment network for the past 12 years, USA Network is delivering a dynamic lineup of big, bold programming – and what could be bigger and bolder than the Treadstone mythology?”

The Jason Bourne saga first began as a series of books by Robert Ludlum, before turning into a jaw-punching/drop-kicking fight fest of a trilogy starring Matt Damon. Jeremy Renner joined in on the action after that trilogy in The Bourne Legacy, before Damon returned to the role in 2016's Jason Bourne, where apparently the writers ran out of title ideas. Oscar winner and Tomb Raider star Alicia Vikander also appeared in that film.

Will any of the characters from the Bourne films cross over? Damon could be a tough get, as could Vikander — but other characters (if they are still alive, this franchise likes to drop bodies) could pop in. For the time being, get ready to see the mythology of Treadstone get enhanced like never before.

Are you feeling Bourne again by this news, or do you think this franchise should start to Jason Die? Let us know in the comments.
