Tricking people into thinking a meteor has crashed results in best ad ever

It's hard getting a job in this economy, and this sure isn't helping things.

Let's say you're a major corporation and you've got a brand-new product you really want to get out into the public consciousness. How would you do that? What kind of ads would you run if you were selling, for example, an 84-inch television? Something that shows off the detail of the picture, right?

Well, that's what LG did. Sort of. What they actually did was fashion the TV to look like an office window. Then they placed a fake ad for a job that doesn't exist so that when applicants came in for an interview, they could make it look like a meteor just crashed into the city.

Naturally, the entire experiment was filmed and used as the actual TV ad.

The funniest thing about all this is that, we assume, these are the least hostile takes they could find. And the people are universally pretty angry. Which makes sense -- the world may not have ended, but they also didn't get the job!
