The elevator pick of "Inception meets Source Code" pretty much sums up Crackle's upcoming sci-fi thriller In the Cloud. Starring Justin Chatwin, Laura Fraser, and Gabriel Byrne, the movie takes place in a world plagued by a serial terrorist bomber. The only way to stop him? VR mind-hacking.
After the death of their mentor, two tech geniuses reunite to create a special VR tool that will allow them to invade the terrorist's mind and prevent further bombings. But it doesn't end there. There are also shady individuals who want to use the "memory cloud" in order to control what they see as a digital afterlife. In attempting to save countless lives, the duo inadvertantly create an artificial intelligence that will reshape the world.
You can enter the memory cloud in this exclusive and very trippy clip from In the Cloud. Just remember to hold onto your lunch.
The movie was directed by Robert Scott Wildes (Poor Boy) and written by Vanya Asher (Eureka). Executive producers are: Imperative Entertainment’s Tim Kring, Justin Levy, Automatik’s Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Little Island Productions in the U.K. Jillian Apfelbaum from Imperative Entertainment and Automatik’s Chris Goble also serve as co-producers.
