Not willing to wait and see if Tron: Legacy hits as big as they think it will, Disney has ordered a cartoon spinoff, Tron: Uprising, to air on Disney XD in a couple of years.
Bruce Boxleitner, or his voice, anyway, will reprise his role as Tron in the series, which will be directed and executive-produced by Samurai Jack veteran Charlie Bean, while Legacy writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz will consult. The voices of Elijah Wood, Lance Henriksen, Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens and Emmanuelle Chriqui will be joining Boxleitner's in the neon wonderland.
No word on what Tron: Uprising will be about, or how it'll relate to the previously announced, identically named 10-part microseries which, according to Collider, would follow "a young program named Beck who stands up against an evil regime headed by Clu, who obtains his status after the defeat of Tron, the security watchdog program."
We're guessing that at some point, and some point soon, we'll get the answer to the question "Just how much Tron is too much Tron?"
