True Blood creator Alan Ball has teased that one of the sexiest, most hottest (yes, most hottest) scene in all of the Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse novels will be seen this season ... but maybe not exactly as you'd think.

Now, for those who've read the Harris books (and for those who haven't, *spoiler ahead*), we're talking about THAT famous shower (*cough* sex *cough*) scene from the fourth novel of the series, titled Dead to the World.

It's a scene all Sookie Stackhouse fans have been waiting for ever since season one—the very first time telepathic waitress Sookie (Anna Paquin) and an amnesiac Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) make love. In Sookie's shower.

Thing is, the HBO series tends to only very loosely follow the basic plotlines of the novels, and then take huge dramatic license regarding characters and major storylines—which is kinda good if you've read the books and still want to be surprised, because the novels and the TV show are two separate, organic entities in and of themselves.

So the question most fans are asking this season is: Will we get to see the book's famous shower scene this season? This is what TV Line's Michael Ausiello reports:

Yes... and No. "There is a shower scene," explains exec producer Alan Ball. "But it is not a direct re-enactment of the shower scene in the book. It goes to a slightly different place." Emphasis on slightly. "Sookie and Eric are in the shower together," confirms Ball, who assures me that, "Everybody who's been waiting for Sookie and Eric to hook up, this will be a very good season for them."

So there you have it. Let's just hope HBO won't drop the ball on that one (no pun intended). Now, where's our copy of Dead to the World ...
