If what you like about Ryan Kwanten's role as Jason Stackhouse on True Blood are those often-revealed six-pack abs or his southern accent, then you're out of luck, 'cause his new project has him stuffed in spandex and sounding like the Australian he actually is. But if you'd like to see him kicking butt as a masked superhero—you're in luck.
Kwanten stars in the upcoming Griff the Invisible as a lonely superhero who figures he can't let anyone get to close to him for fear of putting them in danger (a superhero occupational hazard) until Maeve Dermody somehow (we assume) breaks down that barrier.
Check out the trailer for the low-budget Oz film—which seems as if it might be more intelligent than most of the other superhero movies out there this summer.
Griff the Invisible hits theaters Aug. 19.
