Adding insult to injury, some more details have surfaced about the ill-fated Star Wars 1313 game Disney just tossed out the airlock. Turns out the game would’ve starred everyone’s favorite bounty hunter: Boba Fett.

Kotaku acquired some details on the project (and the above concept art!), which has been in development for about two years over at LucasArts’ game division. It was meant to be a darker, more grounded take on the Star Wars universe, set in the shady underbelly of Coruscant.

Boba Fett was one of the coolest and most beloved characters from the original Star Wars trilogy, and would’ve been a pretty great fit for the Blade Runner-esque tone the developers were aiming for.

But when Disney pulled the plug on LucasArts, 1313 landed on the chopping block. There’s still a slim chance it could be picked up by another developer, but it’s looking pretty unlikely. Sadly, this one will most likely fade into Star Wars lore as a big ol' could-have-been.

We never got much more than a trailer and concept art, but the little bit we did see of 1313 looked damn good. It’s a shame this one will probably never see the light of day.

Does this make you even sadder that 1313 will likely spend eternity somewhere deep inside the Disney vault?
