Looks like Peter Parker won't be meeting his lady love just yet.
Actress Shailene Woodley, who was cast in the role of Mary Jane Watson, wasn't on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for very long. The idea at the time had been for her to make only a brief cameo in the film.
But now Marc Webb seems to have decided that it's best to hold off on introucing MJ until part three. Woodley responded to the story saying, "Of course I'm bummed. But I am a firm believer in everything happening for a specific reason. Based on the proposed plot, I completely understand the need for holding off on introducing [Mary Jane] until the next film."
This news comes hot on the heels of Sony confirming Amazing Spidey 3 and 4. With two more sequels already being budgeted out, it's easy to see why Webb wouldn't want to rush the story.
But what do you think? Did Gwen and Peter need more breathing room or are you chomping at the bit for Mary Jane?
