TV THIS WEEK: Fringe returns + Supernatural, Summer Glau and more!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas as Christmas-themed episodes and holiday movies, including one with Summer Glau as an elf, take over the schedule. But the real Christmas present comes in getting a new Fringe this week. Meanwhile, Supernatural sinks its teeth into a vampire-themed midseason finale, while Ghost Hunters signs off for its eight season.

Also this week, Brennan and the gang consider life after death in a case involving a boy on Bones, Oliver and the Huntress connect on Arrow, Ian McShane plays a demented Santa on American Horror Story: Asylum, answers are revealed on Last Resort, Amy gets sick on The Big Bang Theory, Damon and Stefan go to New Orleans on The Vampire Diaries, Vincent's past is revealed on Beauty & the Beast, a sick Holmes digs into the murder of a college professor, a deep sleep strikes the town on Haven, a mannequin comes to life in Lifetime's Holly's Holiday, and disaster strikes times 12 in Syfy's movie The 12 Disasters of Christmas.

Arrow (The CW) 8 p.m. - "Vendetta"

Oliver and the Huntress become allies with benefits, but Diggle doesn't trust her. Meanwhile, Helena's quest for revenge takes her to a dark place.

Midseason finale! Is Benny going back to his old vampire ways? Dean tries to help his friend, who might just be responsible for a rash of apparent vampire deaths.

Season-eight finale! It's off to Connecticut for Jason and TAPS as they return for a holiday-themed investigation of Mark Twain's house.

Ian McShane alert! Ho! Ho! Ho! It's a Merry Christmas from American Horror Story: Asylum as Deadwood's Ian McShane plays a demented Santa who causes trouble at Briarcliff. Meanwhile, Sister Jude does battle with the devil.

On ABC's The Neighbors (8:30 p.m.), Debbie and Marty hide their kids' Christmas presents at the Bird-Kersees, but Larry opens up all the presents. The Science Channel's Dark Matters: Twisted But True (9 p.m.) delves into an experiment on how to electronically control the mind. And on a double-header of Syfy's Deals From the Darkside (10 & 10:30 p.m.), the hunt continues for dark objects, including a pair of German torture shoes and what might be Jack the Ripper's knife.

Thursday, Dec. 6

Last Resort (ABC) 8 p.m. - "Cinderella Liberty"

There will be answers alert! Why was the Colorado ordered to attack Pakistan? We'll find out in this episode. Meanwhile, the crew wait for a visit from their families.

Damon and Stefan head to New Orleans, which brings up memories of being there in 1942. Meanwhile, Elena, Carolina and Bonnie go out for a girls' night out.

Everyone in Haven falls into a deep sleep, leaving Audrey and the one other person who is not affected to try and figure out the mystery while also attempting to figure out who's skin the Bolt Gun Killer is wearing.

On the channel's Haunted Encounters: Face to Face (10 p.m.), it's a look at the site of the infamous Black Dahlia murder case and Boston's abandoned subway tunnels. On the Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures (9 p.m.), the team probes a Texas hotel that's reported to be infested with spirits. And on the channel's The Dead Files (10 p.m.), Steve and Amy investigate an arts center in Clinton, N.C., in "The House of Death - Clinton, North Carolina."

Saturday, Dec. 8

Holly's Holiday (Lifetime) 8 p.m.

Chuck's Ryan McPartlin and Grimm's Claire Coffee star in this Christmas movie about a New York ad executive who dreams of having a "perfect" life that includes the perfect man. One day she wakes up and meets the perfect man, who is actually a mannequin come to life.

The 12 Disasters of Christmas (Syfy) 9 p.m.

In this Syfy Saturday night movie, Eureka's Ed Quinn and Caprica's Magda Apanowicz star as a father and daughter who are in the middle of the end of the world thanks to a Mayan prophecy.

Summer Glau alert! In this Hallmark movie, the former Terminator plays an elf who becomes a nanny for a busy family that's lost the Christmas spirit.
