TV THIS WEEK: Game of Thrones, Preacher, Orphan Black and more

The summer season is in full swing with new episodes of Game of Thrones, Preacher, Orphan Black, The Strain and more hitting this week. It might be hot outside, but at least winter is here one hour or so per week.

Along with the aforementioned shows, one of the more intriguing premieres this week is the debut of Disney XD's The IGN Show, a nightly co-production between the Mouse House and IGN, which focuses on video game news of the day. SYFY's slate of Blood Drive, Wynonna Earp, Killjoys and Dark Matter are all new this week, plus fresh Stitchers and Shadowhunters on Freeform.

Along with all the shows, there are also a smattering of good movies worth checking out, including Hellboy, Ghostbusters, Guardians of the Galaxy and the director's cut of Ridley Scott’s Alien.

Preacher (AMC), Monday 9PM - "Dallas"

After learning about Tulip's secret relationship, Jesse and Tulip's rocky past is revisited, revealing a darker side of Jesse.

The IGN Show (Disney XD), Monday 9:30PM

SERIES PREMIERE: The premiere of a nightly news show focusing on highlights from the video game industry. A team-up between Disney XD and IGN.

Wynonna Earp (Syfy), Friday 10PM - "Everybody Knows"

Doc and Wynonna's indiscretions haunt the team and ties that bind them. Also: Wynonna and Nicole hit the road for answers.

Orphan Black (BBC America), Saturday 10PM - "Gag or Throttle"

As Westmoreland demands a more aggressive action on Kira and Sarah fights to save her daughter, Rachel finds a dark secret that makes her question her place within Neolution. Elsewhere: Cosima returns with a vital clue to Westmoreland's true identity.

Game of Thrones (HBO), Sunday 9PM - "Stormborn"

Daenerys has a surprise visitor; Jon faces a revolt; Tyrion draws up plans to conquer Westeros.


Shadowhunters (Freeform), Monday 8PM - "Day of Atonement"

Jace and Clary go on an unsanctioned mission while Maia helps Simon out at a Yom Kippur family dinner.

Preacher (AMC), Monday 9PM - "Dallas"

Stitchers (Freeform), Monday 9PM - "Gremlin and the Fixer"

After an engineer ends up dead, his colleague and work rival becomes a suspect. However, upon examining some stitches, Kirsten and the team uncover that he was a part of an underground gaming club. The team race to save a falling satellite, while Cameron takes a walk on the wild side when he infiltrates the gaming ring to get close to another suspect.

Ghostbusters (AMC), Tuesday 8PM

The original: Unemployed parapsychologists devise a system for neutralizing ghosts when New York City comes under attack from supernatural demons.

Alien: The Director's Cut (Action Cinemax), Tuesday 8PM

Bonus footage and a revamped soundtrack enhance this version of the Oscar-winning tale about an interstellar cargo ship terrorized by a monstrous stowaway. Suspenseful and terrifying. Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt. Directed by Ridley Scott.


Sherlock Holmes (BBC America), Wednesday 7PM

Sherlock Holmes puts his strength and intellect to the test as he teams with Watson to battle Lord Blackwood, a formidable new adversary determined to destroy England.

Guardians of the Galaxy (FX), Wednesday 7:30PM

Cosmic outlaws face an interstellar villain who seeks to control the universe with a powerful orb. Together, Peter Quill, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Gamora and Drax the Destroyer may be the galaxy's only hope for thwarting Ronan's sinister plan.

Salvation (CBS), Wednesday 9PM - "Another Trip Around the Sun"

Darius and Liam need to invent a theoretically impossible piece of technology to divert the asteroid. Grace risks everything to help Darius while Liam heads home to Boston to track down critical research, but he finds something shocking instead.

Blood Drive (Syfy), Wednesday 10PM - "Booby Traps"

Arthur and Grace are waylaid by Amazons in The Savage Lands who hold a clue to the where Karma is.


Hellboy (Syfy), Thursday 8:30PM

Get caught up before the reboot: Sixty years after a beast conjured from Hell was captured and trained for good by a professor in a secret organization, Rasputin returns to take back control of his summoned demon.

The Mist (Spike), Thursday 10PM - "The Waiting Room"

Kevin and the others reach the hospital, where Kevin has an unexpected and painful encounter with his brother Mike.

Zoo (CBS), Thursday 8PM - "Welcome to the Terra Dome"

Abraham and Dariela reunite with the team as they try and stop the hybrids from taking over New York City.


Killjoys (Syfy), Friday 8PM - "The Lion, The Witch & The Warlord"

An ambush sends Dutch and Johnny running to Pree's warlord past for help, as D'avin tries to get to the bottom of a Black Warrant that hits unexpectedly close to home.

Dark Matter (Syfy), Friday 9PM - "Hot Chocolate"

While providing safe transport for some allies, the Raza comes under attack from within.

Josh Gates' Destination Truth (Travel), Friday 9PM - "Japanese Water Monster and Icelandic Elves"

Josh Gates and his team hightail it to Japan to find out what mysterious monster is lurking in Lake Ikeda. Then they're off to Iceland after locals report personal contact with elves living on the edge of the forests.

Wynonna Earp (Syfy), Friday 10PM - "Everybody Knows"

Ghost Adventures (Travel), Saturday 9PM - "Extra Pulses: Black Dahlia House"

In an enhanced episode, the team travels to Los Angeles to investigate one of the most iconic murder mysteries: The Black Dahlia. They experience negative energy and audio and visual recordings give the team clues about the murder.
