TV THIS WEEK: Happy! premieres, The Orville season finale, new S.H.I.E.L.D. and more

The big premiere this week belongs to SYFY, where the high-concept dramedy Happy! makes its debut. But, from zombies to superheroes, there's a whole lot of other stuff on tap, too.

The CW's super-slate is all new, with Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow all bringing some A-list adventures this week. There's also a new episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which will continue the team's wild new mission in space, and the season finale of The Orville. The drums of war also continue to beat on the midseason finale of The Walking Dead as Rick's forces face off with Negan.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow (The CW), Tuesday 9PM - "Beebo the God of War"

Rattled by recent events, the Legends dive into work that finds them investigating an anachronism in a Viking settlement in the New World. The Legends realize that the Norsemen are worshipping an artifact as their god and are surprised by the artifact's origin. For the first time, Sara is worried that they might need back up when Damien Darhk shows up. Meanwhile, Jax finds a loophole that could potentially change history, but it is a risk he is willing to take.


Happy! (SYFY), Wednesday 10PM - "Saint Nick"

SERIES PREMIERE: A hit man is forced to partner with an imaginary blue-winged horse to rescue a missing child.


Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC), Friday 9PM - "A Life Spent"

Daisy decides she will rescue Simmons — even if it means risking everything to do it.


The Orville (Fox), Thursday 9PM - "Mad Idolatry"

SEASON FINALE: Ed and Kelly reconsider getting back together; and while on a mission to investigate the origins of an uncharted star, the crew suddenly crash-land on a planet from another universe.


The Walking Dead (AMC), Sunday 9PM - "How It's Gotta Be"

90-MINUTE MIDSEASON FINALE: Every story and battle comes crashing together.


Lucifer (Fox), Monday 8PM - "The Sinnerman"

Lucifer is worried when he realizes that recipients of his favors start to turn up dead. After he and Chloe investigate, they are finally brought face to face with the Sinnerman. Meanwhile, Detective Pierce returns to work after taking a bullet; Charlotte finds a new career; and Amenadiel has a new love interest.


Supergirl (The CW), Monday 8PM - "Reign"

A mysterious symbol popping up all over National City is investigated. Its origins are traced back to an ancient prophecy and the mark of the World Killer, Reign. Meanwhile, the tension between Lena and Morgan Edge continues to build, causing James to step in and offer up some protection, and possibly igniting a spark in the process.


The Gifted (Fox), Monday 9PM - "outfoX"

The team develops a risky plan to help mutants who are in Sentinel Services' custody. Reed reveals details to Andy and Lauren about the Struckers' family history that could prove to be a game-changer.


Robert Kirkman's Secret History of Comics (AMC), Monday 10PM - "The Color of Comics"

Seven renegade artists shock the comic book industry by starting their own company, Image Comics, to rival giants Marvel and DC.


The Flash (The CW), Tuesday 8PM - "Don't Run"

Amunet kidnaps Caitlin and puts meta-dampener handcuffs on her to keep her from turning into Killer Frost. Amunet tells Caitlin she needs her to perform a tricky medical task and if Caitlin fails, Amunet will kill her. Meanwhile, the Thinker traps the Flash in a speedster-proof prison. With the clock ticking, the team doesn't have the time or resources to track both Caitlin and Barry, so Iris is forced to choose who to save.


DC's Legends of Tomorrow (The CW), Tuesday 9PM - "Beebo the God of War"

Riverdale (The CW), Wednesday 8PM - "Chapter Twenty-One: House of the Devil"

When Jughead learns that FP is getting released from prison, he and Betty organize a welcome home party with the Serpents to ease him back into his former life. Meanwhile, Archie and Veronica reach a crossroad in their relationship, but are forced to push their issues aside after Jughead and Betty ask them to take over the Black Hood investigation.


Vikings (History), Wednesday 9PM - "Homeland"

Celebrations are cut short in the aftermath of the battle at York; Ragnar Lothbrok's sons are pitted against each other as tensions reach an all-time high, and each is forced to choose a side.


Happy! (SYFY), Wednesday 10PM - "Saint Nick"

Mr. Robot (USA), Wednesday 10PM - "Eps3.8_Stage3.Torrent"

Elliot trolls a former ally; Mr. Robot leaves cryptic text; and Darlene's plan is risky.


Gotham (Fox), Thursday 8PM - "A Dark Knight: Queen Takes Knight"

Things get complicated for Gordon, Sophia, and Penguin when Carmine Falcone comes to town. Alfred tries to get through to Bruce once and for all; Nygma struggles to gain control over the Riddler persona; and Tabitha attempts to make Grundy remember his past. Meanwhile, a familiar smile resurfaces in Gotham.


Supernatural (The CW), Thursday 8PM - "The Bad Place"

Jack, desperate to prove to Sam and Dean that he is good and that he can control his powers, enlists the help of a dreamcatcher named Kaia to help him find Mary Winchester and save her from the alternate universe. However, when plans go awry, the Winchester brothers are the ones who need saving.


The Big Bang Theory (CBS), Thursday 8PM - "The Confidence Erosion"

Sheldon and Amy try to eliminate stress from wedding planning by applying math to the process. Also, Koothrappali "breaks up" with Wolowitz after realizing his best friend is actually hurting his confidence.


Arrow (The CW), Thursday 9PM - "Irreconcilable Differences"

Quentin Lance is kidnapped by Black Siren and Cayden James, who are looking to trade Lance's life for a weapon of mass destruction. Oliver and Team Green Arrow must figure out a way to save Lance while still keeping the city safe.


Van Helsing (SYFY), Thursday 9PM - "Wakey, Wakey"

A tense standoff between law enforcement and the survivors erupts into a bloodbath; in a bid to evade a vicious breed of vampire, Axel and Scarlett find themselves hunted like prey.


The Orville (Fox), Thursday 9PM - "Mad Idolatry"

Ghost Wars (SYFY), Thursday 10PM - "Post-Apocalypse Now"

An arrival from Lambda headquarters gives the town hope for the first time in weeks as they distribute supplies and promise to get everyone off the island; the eccentric young CEO Daphne Vikander takes great interest in Roman.


Blindspot (NBC), Friday 8PM - "Adoring Suspect"

The team goes undercover on a movie set to stop a terrorist plot with unlikely backers; and Roman blackmails Weller with a horrible secret about Jane.


MacGyver (CBS), Friday 8PM - "War Room + Ship"

Mac must help college students stranded on a research ship in the Arctic Ocean; Jack kidnaps Elwood to find out what he's up to; Bozer's feelings toward Leanna grow stronger.

The Exorcist (Fox), Friday 9PM - "Ritual & Repetition"

As the exorcism reaches a critical juncture, Tomas engages the demon in a desperate battle to save Andy's soul. Meanwhile, Marcus and Rose attempt to get the foster children off the island, but the demon has other plans. As the storm of the century descends upon the island, salvation may come from an unlikely source.


Superstition (SYFY), Friday 10PM - "Echoes of My Mind"

The Dredge captures Calvin and tries to torture him into releasing the evil demons imprisoned in his ring; the Dredge's minions descend on the town's Founders Day Festival.


Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (BBC America), Saturday 9PM - "Trouble Is Bad"

As Wendimoor falls into chaos, The Mage enacts his final solution, putting both worlds in dire jeopardy and forcing the heroes to face off against the villains. Amanda and Todd must overcome their differences to help Dirk.


Ghost Adventures (Travel), Saturday 9PM - "Eureka Mining Town"

Zak and the crew visit the small mining town of Eureka, Nevada, to investigate on a hotel plagued with spirits, and an underground tunnel system constructed by oppressed Chinese laborers.


Outlander (Starz), Sunday 8PM - "Eye of the Storm"

Claire plays a game of cat and mouse with an old adversary as she searches for young Ian; the Frasers race through the jungles of Jamaica to prevent the unthinkable.
