TV THIS WEEK: His Dark Materials season finale, Christmas marathons and more

By Trent Moore
His Dark Materials HBO

Okay, we're not going to sugarcoat it — it's a pretty slow week. Hopefully the holidays are keeping you busy, but if not, we've pulled out a few highlights that are still worth checking out on the small screen this week.

As far as new "Must See" biggies, we turn to the season finale of HBO's ambitious fantasy series His Dark Materials. It's been wild and a lot of fun, so don't miss the sure-to-be thrilling conclusion. Beyond that, we start digging into the good ol' comfort food of holiday marathons. For genre fans, we recommend A Nightmare on Elm Street, Futurama, and a few others.

If you're looking to catch a new-ish movie, there are a few of those on the schedule. Starz has the network premiere of the fantastic super-horror flick Brightburn (seriously, if you missed it the first time around be sure to catch it), and TNT has its network premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi just as The Rise of Skywalker is blowing up the box office.

Check out our full rundown below and let us know what you'll be watching.
