We've entered May, folks, a time of tremendous TV flux. Over the next few months, our primary broadcast season shows will do their best to impress us before they finally bow out for the summer, while midseason replacements and new summer shows will begin clamoring for their own attention. This week, we get a brand-new adventure series in Houdini & Doyle, the long-awaited return of Person of Interest, a pivotal episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and more.

Check out the week in TV below. What's on your watchlist?

Houdini and Doyle (FOX) Monday, 8 p.m. - "The Maggie's Redress"

Series premiere! - We live in an era when the heroes of the late 19th and early 20th centuries are constantly being resurrected for new stories, whether they're real or not. We've got two different Sherlock Holmes shows on, not to mention Penny Dreadful, and now we get to add to that mix with this mashup adventure, which teams legendary magician Harry Houdini with Holmes creator Arthur Conan Doyle. As lovers of celebrity history may well know, Houdini was a famous skeptic, while Doyle studied the possibility of the supernatural for much of his life. Thus, they're at odds with each other, and we've got ourselves a perfect buddy cop show. Check out a preview for this ITV import below.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC) Tuesday, 9 p.m. - "Failed Experiments"

When it comes to the Marvel universe, right now, it might seem like everyone is only talking about Captain America: Civil War, but that's not the only game in town. The agents at S.H.I.E.L.D. are in a fight for their very lives against Hive. This season S.H.I.E.L.D. has ratcheted up its Inhumans and Kree subplots even further, leaving us with what seems like huge potential and a handful of episodes which seem to be building to a major death. The big question now is who will survive as the show continues to build its own small-screen web.

Person of Interest (CBS) Tuesday, 10 p.m. - "B.S.O.D."

Season premiere! - Well, we here we are at the beginning of the end of Person of Interest, one of the most fascinating genre shows to come across network TV in quite some time. It began as a procedural with a sci-fi hook, then evolved into a kind of cyber war drama with a complex mythology, multiple unfolding plotlines and a real eye for suspense. Over the course of the next few months, we get to see how it wraps it all up. Check out a preview for the season below.

Orphan Black (BBC) Thursday, 10 p.m. - "From Instinct to Rational Control"

We've already talked about the vote of confidence BBC America gave this series by moving it from Saturday nights to Thursday nights in an attempt to draw a new and bigger audience. So, how are these things going? On the surface, perhaps not very well. The season premiere drew less than half last season's live audience, and no episode yet has been able to clear 300,000 live viewers. But, do not lose hope, Clone Club. Thursday nights are tricky, and while the live numbers are down, the post-live numbers are very likely not down at all. In fact, they might be up. When you add in cross-platform viewing and everything else we've come to expect in our cord-cutting world, Orphan Black could very well be just fine.

Game of Thrones (HBO) Sunday, 9 p.m. - "Oathbreaker"

A little over a week ago, Game of Thrones returned with more record-breaking numbers, giving HBO a total of more than 10 million viewers on the night, including cross-platform viewers and repeat viewers. That's a good sign for a show that's turning the corner toward its endgame, and a sure sign that HBO will keep riding the wave of its success (which includes merchandising almost as much as it does viewers) right up until the end. Perhaps more interestingly to those of us who're fans of the saga, though, this season is delving into territory the show never dared reveal before. This week's teaser in particular showed us something that, for fans of the novels, is positively intoxicating: a confrontation at a little place called the Tower of Joy. Check out a preview below.
