TV THIS WEEK: iZombie and Final Space premiere, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns and more

Things are finally getting back to normal in the wake of the Olympics, and there's a whole lot of great sci-fi stuff to watch this week on the small screen. From polite zombies, to zany animated space adventures, to a full slate of superheroes, here's what's on TV this week.

The big premieres this week are The CW's iZombie and TBS's new animated series Final Space, while Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is also premiering after a brief hiatus. The CW has a whole lot of new super-stuff too, with Arrow, Black Lightning, Legends of Tomorrow, and Flash all reporting for duty. There's also a new X-Files, Lucifer, The Walking Dead, and Star Wars Rebels, digging deeper into the schedule.

iZombie (The CW), Monday 9 p.m. - “Are You Ready for Some Zombies?”

SEASON PREMIERE: While investigating the murder of a superfan of the Seattle Seahawks, Liv has a surprising vision. Major mentors young, homeless zombies, while Ravi still carries a torch for Peyton. Blaine deals with a threat looming from his past.


Final Space (TBS), Monday 10:30 p.m. - “Chapter One”

SERIES PREMIERE: In the premiere, Gary carries out the final days of his lonely, five-year prison sentence aboard the Galaxy One, when he meets Mooncake, a little green alien, who has the galaxy's most dangerous bounty hunters chasing after it. Gary swears to keep Mooncake safe from the anyone who would do it harm. Little does Gary know, Mooncake is the world's most adorable planet-destroying super weapon.


The Flash (The CW), Tuesday 8 p.m. - “Subject 9”

Barry meets a powerful woman whose abilities could help him in his battle with DeVoe. Meanwhile, after learning that DeVoe is targeting everyone who was on the bus, Ralph decides he doesn't want to be a hero anymore, his only concern is staying alive. Harry offers to help Joe


Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC), Friday 9 p.m. - “All the Comforts of Home”

Coulson and team set out to rewrite the course of humanity's fate, but they're unaware that their efforts will dramatically change one S.H.I.E.L.D agent's life.


The Walking Dead (AMC), Sunday 9 p.m. - "The Lost and the Plunderers"

Groups unite their forces and converge on the Hilltop. Meanwhile, Aaron and Enid search for allies; and Simon takes matters into his own hands.


DC's Legends of Tomorrow (The CW), Monday 8 p.m. - “The Curse of the Earth Totem”

When Sara decides to take some private time, the Legends pursue a lead on the whereabouts of the long-lost Earth Totem. Without Sara's knowledge, the Legends find themselves in 1717 to hunt for Blackbeard's long-lost treasure, but in true Legends fashion things go awry. Meanwhile, Ray feels guilty about something he has done and tries to make amends, which lands him in even bigger trouble.


Lucifer (Fox), Monday 8 p.m. - “High School Poppycock”

When a best-selling novelist is murdered, Lucifer and Chloe discover that her books are based on real people from her past, and must infiltrate her high-school reunion in order to catch her killer. Meanwhile, Amenadiel and Linda struggle with making their relationship public.


Star Wars Rebels (Disney XD), Monday 9 p.m. - “Wolves and a Door,” “A World Between Worlds”

Ezra discovers the Empire's plans for the Jedi Temple; Ezra experiences a revelation inside the Jedi Temple.


iZombie (The CW), Monday 9 p.m. - “Are You Ready for Some Zombies?”

Scorpion (CBS), Monday 10 p.m. - “Dumbster Fire”

The geniuses of Team Scorpion turn into knuckleheads and Paige must simplify the science for them, when their mental faculties are impaired during a job to prevent the creation of a black hole. Also, Florence and Sylvester grow closer when she helps him with a special project.


Final Space (TBS), Monday 10:30 p.m. - “Chapter One”

The Flash (The CW), Tuesday 8 p.m. - “Subject 9”

Black Lightning (The CW), Tuesday 9 p.m. - “Three Sevens: The Book of Thunder”

Jefferson is on the hunt for his father's killer, while Anissa uses her new powers to rectify a wrong after a protest fails. Jennifer grapples with some difficult choices. Elsewhere, Gambi begs for help from Lynn.


The X-Files (Fox), Wednesday 8 p.m. - “Rm9sbG93ZXJz”

In a world of ever-increasing automation and artificial intelligence, Mulder and Scully find themselves targets in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse.


The Magicians (SYFY), Wednesday 9 p.m. - “Six Short Stories About Magic”

Julia and Fen investigate a dangerous group of magicians as Eliot and Margo's reign is challenged.


Channel Zero: Butcher's Block (SYFY), Wednesday 10 p.m. - “Alice in Slaughterland”

Alice confronts her own incipient madness while Zoe eats with the Peaches.


Beyond (Freeform), Thursday 8 p.m. - “Stir”

The latest episode of Freeform’s science fiction drama Beyond


Gotham (Fox), Thursday 8 p.m. - “A Dark Knight: Pieces of a Broken Mirror”

In the spring premiere, Gordon is called to the scene after the Toy Maker is hired to assassinate one of Gotham's doctors. Lee Thompkins begins to try to rebuild the Narrows, with Nygma as her partner. Meanwhile, Alfred's new life in the Narrows becomes complicated and Ivy reveals her new persona to Selina.


Supernatural (The CW), Thursday 8 p.m. - “Good Intentions”

Jack and Mary manage to escape Michael's clutches and end up finding an ally. Meanwhile, Sam, Dean and Castiel continue to search for a way to open a breach, not realizing that one of their own may be working against them and costing them precious time.


The Big Bang Theory (CBS), Thursday 8 p.m. - “The Neonatal Nomenclature”

When Bernadette won't go into labor, all her friends try different tactics to get things started. Also, Wolowitz confronts Bernadette after Amy accidentally reveals she's already chosen their son's name.


Arrow (The CW), Thursday 9 p.m. - “Collision Course”

Oliver, Diggle and Felicity disagree with Dinah, Curtis and Rene on how to handle Black Siren. The two teams face off and a fight ensues.


Blindspot (NBC), Friday 8 p.m. - “Warning Shot”

A surprising visit from Nas leads the team to investigate a dangerous piece of technology that was stolen from the NSA. Roman and Blake grow closer as they attend a high stakes poker game.


MacGyver (CBS), Friday 8 p.m. - “Hammock + Balcony”

MacGyver, Leanna, Riley and Bozer pose as honeymoon couples at a resort in order to gain information about a Serbian war criminal from his newly married son. Also, Bozer wonders if Matty knows about his relationship with Leanna, and Jack recruits Elwood to help him break into Matty's home.

Once Upon a Time (ABC), Friday 8 p.m. - “Secret Garden”

The Season 7 midseason premiere. Eager to harness her burgeoning magical skills, Robin engages in a risky relationship with Mother Gothel. Meanwhile in Hyperion Heights, Roni and Kelly strike a deal with Eloise, desperate to save Lucy from her mysterious illness. But nothing comes without a price. As things finally come to a head between Victoria and Ivy, someone may have to pay with their life.


Josh Gates' Destination Truth (Travel), Friday 9 p.m. - “African Dinosaur and a Beast in Brazil”

Josh treks through the rainforests of Brazil in search of a giant sloth-like monster said to be lurking in the Amazon. Then, he is off to Zambia where locals claim a large winged creature has been attacking from overhead.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC), Friday 9 p.m. - “All the Comforts of Home”

Ghost Adventures (Travel) Saturday 9 p.m. - “Extra Pulses: Nevada State Prison”

The team heads to Carson City to investigate the Nevada State Prison. Once a nightmare for inmates and guards alike, the now-closed prison raises the bar to new frightening levels for Zak Bagans and his crew.

Falling Water (USA), Saturday 10 p.m. - “Risk Assessment”

The team sets up a sting to catch Taylor Bennett and her buyer. Taka and Alex hound Shadowman's daughter, hoping she'll lead them to him.


The Dead Files (Travel), Saturday 10 p.m. - “Desert Curse - Sahuarita, Arizona”

Steve and Amy investigate paranormal activity terrorizing an elderly Arizona couple. While Steve's investigation reveals the property's bloody history, Amy uncovers an entity hellbent on trapping the souls of the living.


Counterpart (Starz), Sunday 8 p.m. - "The Sincerest Form of Flattery"

Clare's past is revealed; Quayle suffers through his own birthday party.


Ash vs. Evil Dead (Starz), Sunday 9 p.m. - "Booth Three"

Ruby gives birth to a form of evil and disguises herself to bond with Brandy; Kelly returns with a friend who is leading the search for The One to defeat The Dark One; Ash realizes evil is out to get his daughter.


The Walking Dead (AMC), Sunday 9 p.m. - "The Lost and the Plunderers"
