TV THIS WEEK: Snowpiercer premiere, Arrowverse finales, Mark Hamill vamps out, She-Ra and more

By Trent Moore
Snowpiercer

It's a finale-loaded week as a whole lot of ongoing shows wrap up their runs as we head into summer. But there are a few new shows premiering and continuing on — including one long-awaited sci-fi project that should keep us cool through the hot months.

Most of the Arrowverse is wrapping its season up prematurely due to the pandemic that shut down pretty much all TV and film production. The Flash, Batwoman and Supergirl are all ending this week with "finales" that actually fall an episode or two short of the originally planned finales. Over on Fox, animated mainstays The Simpsons and Family Guy are also wrapping their current seasons.

But if you're looking for something new, you're in luck: TNT's long-simmering adaptation of Snowpiercer is finally rolling into the station. It looks to be one of the few high-profile sci-fi shows premiering for a while, so it stands to reason it'll have a captive audience of genre fans jonesing for something fresh. FX's What We Do in the Shadows is also new this week, with Mark Hamill (Star Wars) making a deliciously evil guest-starring turn.

On streaming, Netflix's She-Ra and the Princesses of Power drops its final season, DC Universe has a new Harley Quinn, and Disney+ is still rolling out new episodes of its Mandalorian docu-series. If you're looking for streaming shows on cable, we have that, too: AMC is still airing the first season of Shudder's Creepshow, while SYFY is still rolling out the first season of Harley Quinn.

Check out the full rundown below and let us know what you’ll be bingeing.
