It's a weird year for summer TV, since we're mixing our usual programming with the national conventions of two political parties and a Summer Olympics, but we're not out of genre programming yet. This week, we celebrate San Diego Comic-Con with three nights of live programming, we say goodbye to 12 Monkeys (for now) and we say goodbye to Containment (for good).

Check out the week in TV below. What's on your watchlist?

12 Monkeys (Syfy) Monday, 9 p.m. - "Memory of Tomorrow"

Season finale! - Over the past two years, 12 Monkeys has built a reputation as one of the most acclaimed genre dramas on cable, and though it hasn't garnered blockbuster ratings, it has developed a fairly rabid fanbase, and as such it's been rewarded with a third season. So, if you're among those who were begging for a third season, fear not. It's on the way. Check out a preview below.

Containment (CW) Tuesday, 9 p.m. - "Path to Paradise"

Series finale! - The CW has had a fantastic run of genre programming recently with everything from The Flash to Legends of Tomorrow, but they can't all survive, and Containment didn't make the cut. We've known for a while now that the viral drama would be going down this summer, and now we've reached the final episode. Check out a preview below.

Syfy Presents: Live From Comic-Con (Syfy) Thursday-Saturday, 8 p.m.

Comic-Con Special! - The bigger San Diego Comic-Con gets, the greater the demand is for access from people who can't actually make it to the convention, and this year Syfy (Blastr's corporate owner - Ed.) is answering the call with a three-night event hosted by Will Arnett. Now, you won't actually get to see every panel or anything like that, but you will get an inside look at how the con is progressing, with help from special guests like Norman Reedus, Zachary Levi, Will Forte and Tony Hale. So, if you can't make it to the con, you might consider tuning in.
