On this short holiday week there's not a lot of originals, but there are a couple big finales. Most notably, Futurama says goodbye forever (maybe) with its fourth, and possibly final, series finale. And Wilfred's season three signs off.

Also this week, the artists face subterranean terror on Face Off, the heroes get even more serious on Heroes of Cosplay, Ghost Mine returns for a second dose of paranormal/gold-hunting fever, Marco figures out what's really going on on The Bridge, Syfy offers up hungry mutant gators in Ragin Cajun Redneck Gators, and Do No Harm finishes its run.

Here's what we have to look forward to this week in sci-fi, fantasy, horror and paranormal TV.

Tuesday, Sept. 3

Face Off (Syfy) 9 p.m. - “Subterranean Terror”

The artists are challenged with creating humanoid underground monsters in an individual challenge. Creature designer Jordu Schell guest-judges.

Here's a look:

Heroes of Cosplay (Syfy) 10 p.m. - “Anime Matsuri”

The heroes find the stakes raised when they attend the Anime Matsuri in Houston, Texas.

Here's a preview:

Wednesday, Sept. 4

Futurama (Comedy Central) 10 p.m. - “Meanwhile”

Series finale! And they mean it this time! After four series finales, it's finally over. Probably. In the final finale, Fry pops the question to Leela, and he accidentally freezes time with the Professor's latest invention. Goodbye, Futurama! You were awesome. Luckily we'll get to watch you on Comedy Central in reruns for the next few centuries, or until it's time to put all our heads in jars. However, it's not really, really over.

The finale will be preceded and followed by Futurama Live! a pair of live-streamed video chats featuring creators Matt Groening and David X. Cohen, cast members Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, Phil LaMarr and Lauren Tom, writer Patric M. Verrone and animator Pete Avanzino. The pre- and after-shows air at 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. and will be moderated by Chris Hardwick on the Futurama site and the Nerdist YouTube Channel.

Here's a preview of the finale:

Ghost Mine (Syfy) 10 p.m. - “Return to the Darkness”

Season-two premiere! The crew of the Crescent returns to work, but strange things start happening when they blast through new tunnel walls. And if you want a review of season one, join host Adam Copeland and paranormal investigators Patrick and Kristen as they look at highlights in the special Ghost Mine: Back on the Mountain at 9 p.m.

Here's a promo:

The Bridge (FX) 10 p.m. - “The Beetle”

As things heat up, we now know who and why, and Marco also has finally put together the pieces of the puzzle. But is it too late for him to save his family?

Other Wednesday shows of interest:

On the Cartoon Network's LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles (8 p.m.), it's the second in a series of three mini-movies. In this one, Master Yoda and the Sith each attempt to court a powerful new ally. And there's a new episode of the Science Channel's The Unexplained Files (9 p.m.).

Thursday, Sept. 5

Wilfred (FX) 10 p.m. - “Regrets”

Season-three finale! Jenna tells Ryan she can't see Wilfred any more.

Here's a promo:

Ragin Cajun Redneck Gators (Syfy) 10 p.m.

A Syfy original movie! A bad batch of moonshine causes trouble for gators and rednecks in Louisiana.

Here's a look:

Friday, Sept. 6

Ghost Adventures (Travel) 9 p.m. - “Missouri State Prison”

The guys travel to Jefferson City, Mo., to investigate the Missouri State Prison, which was infamous for its bloodshed and violence.

Saturday, Sept. 7

Do No Harm (NBC) 10 p.m. - “This Is How It Ends"

Series finale! With Jason about to have surgery to get rid of Ian, there's only one problem. Normal anesthesia doesn't work on him. I incorrectly identified last week as the series finale. Sorry about that!

Other Saturday shows of interest:

There's a new My Ghost Story: Caught on Camera (9 p.m.) on Bio. And also on the channel on Psychic Tia (10 p.m.), Tia's new grandchild is about to arrive.
