TV THIS WEEK: The Walking Dead reanimates, The River and more!

The dead return to walk again ... The Walking Dead, that is. The horror series returns for the second half of its second season picking up right where it left off. We'll also get to see the two-hour premiere of Steven Spielberg's The River, and Amy Acker guest-stars on NBC's Grimm.

And this week, the team hunts for a guard on Alcatraz, Josh connects with a new pack on Being Human, Bo tries to stop a Fae-involved hit on a human on Lost Girl, the TAPS team investigates a notoriously haunted mansion in Ghost Hunters, Vivica A. Fox and Sam Huntington guest-judge on Face Off, Klaus throws a formal ball on The Vampire Diaries, Valentine's Day and some angry spirits of witches causes issues on The Secret Circle, and Archer gets a nifty spy car for his birthday on Archer.

Also, Olivia and company get trapped in a town on Fringe, there's an evil clown who gives evil clowns a bad name on Supernatural, Merlin is turned into an assassin on Merlin, Paul questions why he was spared on The Fades, Syfy explores a new adaptation of Jules Verne's The Mysterious Island, it's Beauty and the Beast time on Once Upon a Time, and a new series about comic book geeks premieres on AMC, called Comic Book Men.

Monday, Feb. 6

Alcatraz (Fox) 9 p.m. - "Guy Hastings"

The team searches for an Alcatraz guard, who looks up an old acquaintance.

Being Human (Syfy) 9 p.m. - "(I Loathe You) For Sentimental Reasons"

Aidan finds himself getting closer to Suren, while Sally jumps into another's body and Josh gets wolfy with a new pack.

When a Fury attempts to hire Bo to killer her husband's human mistress, she decides to place the woman under her protection.

Tuesday, Feb. 7

The River (ABC) 9 p.m. - "Magus" and "Marbeley"

Two-hour series premiere! When a legendary TV explorer goes missing in the Amazon, his wife, his son and a film crew set out to find him. From executive producers Steven Spielberg and Paranormal Activity's Oren Peli, this new horror series is mostly filmed from the camera's point of view. The series stars Leslie Hope, Bruce Greenwood and Paul Blackthorne.

Wednesday, Feb. 8

Ghost Hunters (Syfy) 9 p.m. - "Moonshine & Madness"

TAPS heads to Virginia to investigate the notorious Major Graham Mansion, which has a history of slavery, murder and madness.

Face Off (Syfy) 10 p.m. - "Dangerous Beauty"

Vivica A. Fox and Being Human's Sam Huntington guest-judge as the contestants are tasked with creating werewolf wounds and an original creature that is beautiful and deadly.

Thursday, Feb. 9

The Vampire Diaries (The CW) 8 p.m. - "Dangerous Liaisons"

Klaus throws a formal ball at his newly renovated mansion, which brings Elena and the gang to yet another potentially killer party.

The Secret Circle (The CW) 9 p.m. - "Valentine"

It's Valentine's Day, so you just know things are going to get interesting for the young witches. So, of course, Faye and Melissa throw a slumber party and Diana falls victim to a mood-altering potion. Meanwhile, some witchy spirits haunt Cassie.

Archer (FX) 10 p.m. - "Drift Problem"

Archer gets a high-tech spy car as a surprise for his birthday, but that's only the first of all sorts of other less pleasant surprises.

And on the channel's Person of Interest (9 p.m.), Reese works to protect a teen who wants to get revenge when his brother is murdered in "Wolf and Cub."

Friday, Feb. 10

Fringe (Fox) 9 p.m. - "Welcome to Westfield"

Peter, Olivia and Walter end up trapped in a town during a Fringe event.

Goofy title alert! Sam and Dean take on a case involving one nasty clown and children who have their worst fears come to life to kill their parents.

Grimm (NBC) 9 p.m. - "Tarantella"

Amy Acker alert! The Dollhouse and Angel alum is tangled up in a case involving the desiccated body of a man and a deadly woman who leads a double life.

Merlin is captured by Morgana, who uses ancient magic to turn him into an assassin determined to take out Arthur.

On Cartoon Network's Star Wars: The Clone Wars (8 p.m.), Obi-Wan and Anakin try to stop a plot to kidnap Chancellor Palpatine in "Crisis on Naboo." And on the channel's Generator Rex (8:30 p.m.), Van Kleiss' travels through time are revisted in "A Brief History of Time." Saturday, Feb. 11

The Fades (BBC America) 9 p.m. - "Episode 5"

In the penultimate episode, Paul tries to figure out why he was brought back to life. Meanwhile, people are vanishing from the town at an alarming rate, and John and Natalie discover that the Fades are invading the town.

Jules Verne's The Mysterious Island (Syfy) 9 p.m.

A Syfy Original Movie! A new take on Jules Verne's classic about a group of stranded people trapped on a mysterious island with an active volcano, pirates and monstrous creatures. The film stars Gina Holden, Lochlyn Munro, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Mark Sheppard, and was directed by Sheppard.

Saturday, Feb. 12

Once Upon a Time (ABC) 8 p.m. - "Skin Deep"

Emilie De Ravin alert! Lost's De Ravin guest-stars as Belle in the fairy-tale land, who decides to sacrifice her freedom to save her town from the Ogre War. And in the real world, Mr. Gold's house is robbed.
