TV THIS WEEK: Walking Dead returns, Star Trek meets Big Bang and more!

The long-awaited second season of AMC's zombiefest The Walking Dead finally arrives this week with a super-sized premiere. Next Generation's Wil Wheaton and Brent Spiner pop up on The Big Bang Theory—and there's hints that Peter might return (or not!) on Fringe.

Also—this week there's an outbreak that hits a little close to home for Jim on Terra Nova, Tracy Morgan returns with more scares on Scare Tactics, TAPS investigates New York's Friars Club on Ghost Hunters, Vivien and Violet end up in a desperate situation on American Horror Story, it's High School Prank Night and you know that can't be a good thing on The Vampire Diaries, someone gets demonized on The Secret Circle, Reese tries to protect a female doctor on Person of Interest, Michael has a patient who's hearing things on A Gifted Man, an Egyptian god puts Dean on trial on Supernatural, Abnormals revolt on Sanctuary, Jed has a hot and heavy reaction to a stranger on Bedlam, Syfy gets 30 Days of Dark: Dark Days in L.A., of all places, and a trucker takes some stranded strangers for a real ride on Prowl.

Monday, Oct. 10

Terra Nova (Fox) 8 p.m. - "What Remains"

When Terra Nova loses touch with a scientific outpost, an investigation reveals that a deadly virus has struck and left those affected with memory loss and paranoia. What do you think? Is Terra Nova worthy?

Scare Tactics (Syfy) 9 p.m. - "Tracy the Tour Guide"

Season 4.5 premieres! Tracy Morgan is back with more twisted sci-fi hidden-camera action. In this episode, Tracy's ancestor comes back as a mummy menace, and a horror film actor, a lab assistant and a document film crew face shocking surprises.

Ghost Hunters (Syfy) 9 p.m. - "Roasts and Ghosts"

The TAPS team delves into what might be ghostly activity at the Friars Club in New York.

While Ben heads to Boston to put some lingering issues to rest, Vivien and Violet find themselves trapped in a terrifying situation that is oddly similar to an event in the house's past.

History's Ancient Aliens (9 p.m.) delves into "Aliens and Deadly Cults." And on Syfy's Paranormal Witness (10 p.m.), a convict dealing with demonic possession and a haunted plantation in North Carolina are the focus of "The Rain Man/Ghost in the Garden."

Thursday, Oct. 13

The Big Bang Theory (CBS) 8 p.m. - "The Russian Rocket Reaction"

Wil Wheaton and Brent Spiner alert! Leonard wants to attend a party at the home of Sheldon's nemesis, which leads to a cameo for Star Trek: The Next Generation's Wheaton and Spiner.

The Vampire Diaries (The CW) 8 p.m. - "The Reckoning"

High School Prank Night has deadly consequences for the folk of Mystic Falls. Meanwhile, Klaus attempts to tighten his grip on Stefan, and Damon plots to get Jeremy and his spirit connections to help him defeat the villainous vamp.

The Secret Circle (The CW) 9 p.m. - "Slither"

Melissa tries to get Nick to help her locate her family's Book of Shadows. Elsewhere, Diana plans a date night with Adam, and Dawn and Charles plot their plans for the circle. However, we're thinking the real excitement is going to come from that demon that's found a new home after last week's events.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Cartoon Network) 8 p.m. - "Nomad Droids"

C-3PO and R2-D2 find trouble by way of two hostile worlds and pirates!

Michael asks Anton to help with a patient who's hearing voices. Meanwhile, Kate faces challenges on her first day at the clinic.

This is your life, Dean Winchester! When Sam and Dean tackle the case of a vengeful Egyptian god who dispatches people for their sins, things go south and Dean goes on trial for his past mistakes. We're guessing Dean's deeds from last week might pop up.

Walter must leave his lab for the first time in years on a trip with Olivia to Massive Dynamic in New York to investigate a powerful force that might have something to do with his old Cortexiphan experiments. Or could it be Peter trying to break through?

On the CW's Nikita (8 p.m.), Nikita discovers that her old Division partner is alive and has been locked in a Turkish prison on "Partners." On Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place (8 p.m.), Alex and Harper's new roommate is a ghost with a broken heart on "Ghost Roommate." The Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures (9 p.m.) takes on the famous "Winchester Mystery House." And on the channel's The Dead Files (10 p.m.), Amy and Steve probe what might be possessed dolls in "Death and Dolls."

Saturday, Oct. 15

Bedlam (BBC America) 9 p.m. - "Inmates"

Jed is attracted to a stranger, Sadie Novak, who's recovering from a breakdown. Meanwhile, Ryan learns shocking revelations about Jed's background.

30 Days of Night: Dark Days (Syfy) 9 p.m.

This sequel to 30 Days of Night, about the massacre of the local population of Barstow, Alaska, by vampires, follows Stella (Kiele Sanchez) as she moves to L.A. and takes out her anger on the local vamp population.

Sunday, Oct. 16

The Walking Dead (AMC) 9 p.m. - "What Lies Ahead"

It's a 90-minute season-two premiere! The Walking Dead are back to walk again! Rick and the survivors leave Atlanta and find more zombie challenges in their future. Meanwhile, Shane wants to leave the group.

Prowl (Syfy) 9 p.m.

Okay. If a trucker ever offers you a ride after your car breaks down on a deserted highway, RUN. In this Sunday night Syfy movie, a group of young adults accept a ride from a trucker and end up on the menu of a hungry pack of flesh-eating creatures in an abandoned warehouse.
