Yep, it's the week we've all been waiting for. We've run out of Mayan calendar as of Friday, Dec. 21, but luckily we'll probably get in a big episode of Fringe, the season-three finale of Haven and a Doctor Who special with John Barrowman. Beyond that, there's not a whole lot worth watching.
Here's what we have to look forward to this week on sci-fi, fantasy, and paranormal TV.
Monday, Dec. 17
Dragons: Gift of the Night Fury (Fox) 8 p.m.
How to Train Your Dragon sequel special! This computer-animated short film by DreamWorks takes place after the original movie, during the Viking winter holiday when all of the dragons of Berk mysteriously fly away suddenly, accidentally kidnapping Hiccup.
Here's a preview:
Wednesday, Dec. 19
Dark Matters: Twisted but True (Science) 9 p.m. - "Theremin; The Monster Study; 'Roid Rage"
Fringe's John Noble hosts this series, which explores mad science, including a piece of spy tech created by a Russian inventor Leon Theremin, an experiment on stuttering conducted on orphans, and the first use of anabolic steroids in American sports.
Thursday, Dec. 20
2012 the End Is Now (History) 9 p.m.
The end is near? No! The End is tomorrow, apparently, so why not do a little prep and watch this History Channel special with Brad Meltzer which takes a look at doomsday prophecies and apocalypse preparations. Yep, if the world doesn't end on Friday, Dec. 21, a lot of people are going to be very disappointed.
Friday, Dec. 21 - The End of the World?
Fringe (Fox) 9 p.m. - "Anomaly XB-6783746"
Odd title alert! Season-five fall finale! The end is also near for the team (or is it?) as Nina Sharp and a child Observer prove key to the team's plans to defeat the Observers.
Here's a preview:
The Brit List (BBC America) 10 p.m. - "The Doctor Who Ultimate List of Lists"
John Barrowman alert! Barrowman and Asha Leo reveal the Top five Doctor Who companions, scariest moments, best monsters, best guest stars and whatever other biggest, baddest and best lists they could come up with to prepare us for the Doctor Who Christmas special, which airs on Christmas Day.
Here's a look:
Haven (Syfy) 10 p.m. - "Thanks for the Memories"
Season-three finale! Laura Vandervoort alert! Will Audrey Parker vanish for 27 years and take the Troubles with her? The finale comes to an "explosive" conclusion as Audrey, Nathan and Duke face off against the Bolt Gun Killer. Meanwhile, Audrey weighs her fate and Smallville's Laura Vandervoort guest-stars as a Troubled woman who is driven mad by love. Haven's been picked up for a fourth season, so we're guessing Audrey will be back next year one way or another.

Other Friday shows of interest:
In honor of today's apocalypse, Syfy's having an End of the World Doomsday Marathon (beginning at 8 a.m.) featuring such classics as 2012: Supernova, Doomsday Prophecy and 12 Disasters of Christmas. Celebrity Ghost Stories (Bio) 9 p.m. - "20 Most Evil Entities"
Okay, so apparently the world didn't end, but considering what we have to look forward to over the weekend, it might as well have.
