We hope you sent a card: Twilight star Taylor Lautner and his six-pack abs celebrate their 18th birthday today, and news has broken that he's in such demand that studios are bidding for his services in a series of new movies, some with definite sci-fi elements.
Besides being the subject of a bidding war over Abduction, a kind of teen Bourne movie, Lautner is also slated to star in the proposed Stretch Armstrong movie, based on the Hasbro toy, and Max Steel, based on the Mattel action figure.
Here's how Nikki Finke's Deadline Hollywood reported it:
Considering he just got on the Hollywood radar because of the Twilight Saga and just days ago blew out the candles on his 18th birthday cake, Lautner with his 8-pack abs is the newest and youngest action star in a dizzying volume of movie deals made over recent weeks. He's already the lead in two major studio superhero franchises—Universal's Stretch Armstrong and Paramount's Max Steel—and was paid $7.5 million for the John Moore-directed Skydance Top Gun-esque thrill ride Northern Lights.
And that's not to mention his future appearances in the Twilight saga, in which he plays teen werewolf Jacob Black.
