Twitter declares Avengers: Infinity War mind-blowing following world premiere

At last the moment has arrived.

Avengers: Infinity War had its world premiere on Monday night (April 23) in Hollywood, where the cast, filmmakers, members of the press, Hollywood industry types, and lucky fans got to see the culmination of the first 10 years of one of the most ambitious movie projects ever launched, the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The build-up of hype around the film, the speculation of how much it changes the landscape of the MCU, and the forecasts of just how huge a box-office behemoth it could be... all of that pales into insignificance beside one simple question: Is it good?

Based on the reactions pouring into Twitter shortly after the film ended (the social embargo was 10:30 p.m. PT), the answer is a resounding "HELL, YES."

Directors Anthony and Joe Russo, producer/studio mastermind Kevin Feige, screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the entire cast of Marvel all-stars, and the entire production team have seemingly done the near-impossible: made a movie that juggles dozens of characters, delivers mammoth action of unprecedented scope, introduces a villain for the ages, and raises the stakes to almost unbearable heights.

Now, the usual disclaimers apply: These are reactions coming immediately after a premiere, where everybody who's there is caught in the excitement and glitter and spectacle, so these first responses may be influenced by all that. And to be sure, a number of reactions pointed out some of the film's flaws as well.

We'll ultimately all have to judge for ourselves whether this is a worthy climax to the first decade of the MCU. But in the meantime, look what they're saying online (and don't worry, there are no spoilers):

A number of responses cited the film for having a knockout ending:

Some folks were less than blown away, in some cases by the fact that the story won't conclude for another year, when Avengers 4 arrives:

No outright pans (as far as we could see so far), and overall the reaction is the same: Marvel has delivered once again, this time with perhaps its biggest movie ever... until next year at this time.
