The apocalypse has been unleashed on the world. Tonight, the long-awaited premiere of American Horror Story: Apocalypse aired, and of course the internet was out in force to share their reactions.

The highly anticipated eighth season of creator Ryan Murphy's horror anthology series is revisiting two prior American Horror Story narratives for Apocalypse, Season 1's Murder House and Season 3's Coven. Together, they're thrown together against the backdrop of the end of the world, and the premiere was a spectacle to behold.

Along with a handful of new characters, the returning actors reprised one (or more) of their roles from previous seasons. AHS mainstay Sarah Paulson would even play two different characters over the course of a single day of shooting.

Here are the best reactions to the AHS: Apocalypse premiere. Just a heads up, if you haven't seen the premiere yet, you may want to turn back now.

**SPOILER WARNING: There are spoilers for AHS: Apocalypse below!**

Now, it would be no exaggeration to say that this season definitely started off with a bang.

Not all the bombs that went off were nuclear, however.

With the end of the world officially underway, some of the shadier elements of the story started to reveal themselves.

Then Sarah Paulson's Ms. Wilhemina Venable showed up to lay out the ground rules of life after the end of the world.

Of course, we have to talk about that meal.

Then it didn't take long before people started speculating how this new apocalyptic bunker was going to tie in to Murder House and Coven.

Of course, then there was that ending.

And that's it. What did you think of the season premiere of American Horror Story: Apocalypse? Let us know in the comments!
