Two people are better than one... unless those two people reside in the same body. Then, well, all hell will break loose.
This is what we learn from the new trailer for Jonathan, the feature-film debut from director Bill Oliver. The film follows the titular character, a successful architect with a unique disorder: He has single body multi-consciousness. Two unique personas, with no knowledge of the other, sharing one body. Jonathan has control during the day, while John controls the evening. It sounds similar to dissociative identity disorder (think Split), but a physical ailment, not a mental one.
Jonathan has a list of rules to keep both in line, but John disobeys, creating trouble for Jonathan. He stays out late, partying, and has a secret girlfriend named Elena. Jonathan forces his twin to break up with the girl, then starts dating her, which, unsurprisingly, complicates things.
Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver, Divergent) stars as John/Jonathan, with Suki Waterhouse (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) as Elena. Patricia Clarkson (Six Feet Under, Sharp Objects) plays Jonathan's controlling doctor. Matt Bomer (White Collar, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) also co-stars.
You can catch Jonathan on demand and in theaters on Nov. 16.
