As Valiant Entertainment takes its characters into the 41st century for a crossover event (more on that below with an exclusive reveal), the publisher itself is looking to the future with the announcement that it has renewed an agreement to distribute titles digitally with ComiXology while also expanding to Amazon’s Kindle Store.

This is undoubtedly big news for the publisher. Valiant is known for titles such as A&A: The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong, Bloodshot Reborn, Rai and X-O Manowar, and the renewal with ComiXology continues to make those available, along with over 75,000 comics from more than 150 publishers. Additionally, the Kindle expansion opens up a world of potential readers for Valiant on devices and platforms including Fire tablets, Kindle e-readers, iOS and Android.

Said Valiant Chief Operating Officer Gavin Cuneo in a release, “Valiant’s expansion onto Kindle represents a colossal new audience for our award-winning library of content and characters.”

“Valiant’s digital readership continues to grow globally and, with the continued support of comiXology, we look forward to furthering Valiant’s mission of reaching as many fans as possible the world over.”

As it happens, the news coincides with the launch of the publisher’s comic event 4001 A.D. Issue #1 (of four), from acclaimed writer Matt Kindt (MIND MGMT, Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E., RAI), artist Clayton Crain, and Eisner Award winner David Mack. The crossover places titles in the 41st century and picks up the action from Kindt's book Rai, as the titular hero faces off against the artificial being Father, ruler of New Japan.

Keep an eye on this space as we reveal more about 4001 A.D., but in the meanwhile, check out the covers for issues 1-4, and our exclusive reveal of four unlettered pages from Issue #3 (available this July) written by Matt Kindt, with art by Clayton Crain.
