After being renewed for a third blood-drenched season, SYFY's Van Helsing will keep Vanessa Van Helsing’s (Kelly Overton) quest to quell the monsters of “The Rising” more alive than her adversaries. It's been a cool, violent, and lore-filled spin on the traditional tale of the vampire hunter, and now we’ve got some inside intel on what’s coming next thanks to some exclusive footage that aired at San Diego Comic-Con.
During a panel featuring stars Overton, Jonathan Scarfe, Missy Peregrym, Aleks Paunovic, Rukiya Bernard, Vincent Gale, and Trezzo Mahoro alongside showrunner Neil LaBute and executive producers Mike Frislev and Chad Oakes, there were plenty of behind-the-scenes trivia nuggets to go around -- but the real star of the show was the footage, some of which Scarfe directed.
He did a few episodes, including a slo-mo action scene they showed in which Overton takes a bullet to the neck. But that wasn't the most surprsing part of the Season 3 teases; we were shown the below trailer:
So that was crazy. Babies, masks, and so much stabbing. But we also saw Overton's character having a conversation with her sister -- one where the latter confessed to be thirsting for blood.
Yikes. Sounds like Season 3 is going to have some dark transformations.
Van Helsing returns to SYFY for its third season this fall. What are you most looking forward to seeing?
