The triumphant finale of Star Wars Rebels may be well behind us, but the characters that were introduced in the series continue to have a major presence in Star Wars. Perhaps no character from that beloved series has more of a continuing legacy than Hera Syndulla, played by the insanely prolific Vanessa Marshall.
Marshall was a Star Wars voiceover veteran before Rebels came along, but the series (and the character) has cemented her place in the history of the galaxy far, far away even further. General Syndulla was referred to in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, she's appeared in the "Alphabet Squadron" book series, and has matched wits with Doctor Aphra in Marvel Comics. Hera is everywhere — possibly even behind the controls of the Ghost when it showed up in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Vanessa Marshall recently joined our heroes over on Jabba the Pod to discuss all things Hera, Rebels, and her own Star Wars fandom, which is immense. How has Hera changed her? What wisdom would Hera give to people in the real world? Might we ever see Hera Syndulla in live action, and if so, would Marshall play her?
All of this is discussed, as well as so much more. Listen to the episode right here, or wherever you get your podcasts. Here comes the General!
