Bruce Timm produced the beloved 1992-1995 Batman: The Animated Series, as well as many other hits for the DC Animated Universe. Timm, along with writers Jim Krieg and Sam Liu, spoke to us at San Diego Comic-Con about the upcoming DCAU movie Batman and Harley Quinn.

For example, they promise the intro sequence will be an attention-grabbing feast for the eyes. Second, Batman will be his same bat-self, but because of Harley's wacky presence, "now he's the straight man in a weird comedy." Third, Harley Quinn’s costume was almost altered, but they kept to the classics.

More importantly, there’s a hint of a sparkle of a glimmer of hope about the late, lamented Batman: The Animated Series.

Timm said, “I can pretty much guarantee that if everybody watching this goes out and buys 20 copies of the movie that we’ll end up doing more…. If it does really, really well, I guarantee you the home video people will say yes.” Yessss.

Don’t take our word for it. Here’s Timm, Krieg, and Liu, below. Fingers crossed on the success of Batman and Harley Quinn.
