Square Enix's Octopath Traveler has just debuted on Nintendo Switch, and will bring an intriguing set of female heroines, all with their own unique backgrounds and personalities. One is Primrose Azelhart, July's Video Game Heroine of the Month!
Primrose is one of the playable female characters in Octopath Traveler, and the only female character you could try in the Project Octopath Traveler demo released on Nintendo Switch earlier this year. A member of the once proud Azelhart house, one night left everything she knew in shambles. Her father was murdered and she lost her home, and disgrace was brought upon her old employer.
Primrose found herself seeking revenge, deciding she would do just about anything to make things right again, and she took up a role as a "dancing girl," employed by a "pleasure district" in the town of Sunshade. Primrose now hides her highborn status while contemplating vengeance and dancing for those who would pay to watch her and be entertained.
Primrose is often abused and manipulated by her "boss" Helgenish, but she endures it all to one day wreak havoc on the lives of those who took everything she knew from her. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and we'll hopefully see Primrose getting what's hers throughout Octopath Traveler.
Primrose is a boon in combat as well, as she can use her primary dancer job to perform some very powerful buffs. Her high speed and evasion help compensate for her lower physical prowess, and as such as she can help keep other party members fighting and ready to tangle. For instance, her Lion Dance allows one party member's physical attacks to become more powerful for two turns. We're especially hoping she takes revenge on the same "master" who seems to mistreat the other dancers. We're waiting with bated breath.
Octopath Traveler is a Nintendo Switch exclusive, and you can pick up the complete game now. And as usual, be sure to come back next month for the latest installment of our Video Game Heroine of the Month series!
