Not all Canadians, mind you. Just the ones who decided that Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird's group of crime-fighting reptiles were a horrible, derisible influence on children. So much so that they started an anti-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crusade.

"As we began to look into the toys of today and the cartoons of today and the videogames of today, we began to realize something: Our children are being evangelized with another gospel."

So begins this clip from Not Just Fun and Games, a '90s propaganda film made by alleged Christian moralists which attempts to show precisely how the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well as other pop icons like The Simpsons and Vanilla Ice, are infecting children with evil.

My takeaway from this is not how totally blinkered and misguided these "pundits" and their points of view are—we get to see such targeted narrowmindedness every time there's an election on the horizon—rather, it's just how much Turtles merchandising there was back in the day. Pepperoni sticks!
