If Doctor Who's ''The Angels Take Manhattan'' wasn't sad enough for you (and you want to know what happened to the Ponds), then have a look at this brand-new scene that takes place in our present day, after Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill) got stuck in the past in Manhattan.
Called Doctor Who: P.S., this special scene was penned by Doctor Who writer Chris Chibnall but was very sadly never shot. The video uses animated storyboards and is narrated by Arthur Darvill, who played Rory Williams on Who.
It shows what happens to Rory's dad Brian Williams (Mark Williams)—to whom we were first introduced in ''Dinosaurs on a Spaceship''—when he gets an unexpected visitor and a letter from the past.
Even though Rory's dad only appeared in two episodes, he quickly became a favorite with Who fans, much like Donna Noble's (Catherine Tate) much-beloved grandfather Wilf (Bernard Cribbins).
Have a look at the rather bittersweet video (and for those who are especially sensitive, keep a stash of tissues close).
Does that video make the Ponds' departure even sadder? Or does it soothe some of the sting of their ultimate fate?
