Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel is Bloodshot in extremely rare Valiant variant, but there's only one copy being made

The disaster relief charity known as Reach Out WorldWide is offering an extremely rare variant Bloodshot comic from Valiant, whose cover art imagines actor Vin Diesel as the titular superhero. This is noteworthy because Diesel is currently shooting a live-action movie centered around the character for Sony Pictures.

By donating a mere $20, you'll instantly be entered into a drawing to win the nearly-priceless collectible, of which there is only one in all of existence. Specifically, it's Bloodshot Salvation #12 (originally published in August) with exclusive cover art from Valiant's Lewis LaRosa and signed by Groot (aka Diesel) himself.

As the website says, the art was, "commissioned by former Valiant CEO & Chief Creative Officer Dinesh Shamdasani at the request of Bloodshot director Dave Wilson, who gave the art to star Vin Diesel as a gift and reveals Diesel's likeness as the character for the first time, as rendered by his favorite Bloodshot artist, Lewis LaRosa."

So, while this isn't official concept art from Sony, it's probably very close to what we'll see in the film.

The raffle is part of ROWW's fourth annual Let's Play livestream known as "Game4Paul," which is on today and features Diesel as a guest.

In early August, Diesel, in the company of director Wilson, announced that production was underway on the movie, which co-stars Toby Kebbell (Kong: Skull Island), Sam Heughan (Outlander), and possibly Guy Pearce (The Innocents).

Diesel will be taking on the persona of Angelo Mortalli, a high-ranking mob member, who is murdered. After having nanites injected into his body, he rises from the dead, now able to heal himself, change shape, and even commune with technology.

Bloodshot hits theaters on February 21, 2020.
