The CW has released a couple of new photos from its fantasy drama, Beauty and the Beast. They feature Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan, who play the title characters. Both actors look great—even though one of them is supposed to be a raging monster.
We can only assume The CW is holding out on us. There should be one distinct beauty, and one obvious beast, but that's not the case. Ryan, who plays Vincent/The Beast, looks better and better every time we see him. In this latest batch of photos, his "mutilating" scar is a faint afterthought.
At this year's Comic-Con, the actor spoke about the different kinds of makeup used to create the Beast. For the first episode it took four hours, but now it's down to two. He also revealed, "There's a mix of CGI and prosthetics in the pilot. But as the series continues, his transformation will become larger, I think, as the chemical takes over his body."
Maybe this is just the calm before the storm? We'd sure like a peek at the monster within.
Beauty and the Beast debuts Oct. 11 on The CW.
