Vintage Star Wars concept art shows the evolution of Boba Fett's iconic look

Some vintage Star Wars concept art has surfaced showing off the original designs for everyone’s favorite intergalactic bounty hunter.

Developed by Joe Johnston (eventual director of Captain America: The First Avenger) back when he was working as a concept designer on the trilogy alongside Ralph McQuarrie, the original Boba Fett designs show how the helmet and costume evolved during the design phase. 

You can see the evolution from a stormtrooper-esque feel to something more defined, as the look of the character was actually inspired by very early Darth Vader designs. It’s a fascinating peek at the process, but really, none of these early sketches compare to the finished project. We're glad this one kept evolving.
