Voltron: Legendary Defender Season 5 trailer promises a new age of warfare

Allegiances have shifted as Voltron: Legendary Defender fights its way to a fifth season. The rebels and Team Voltron have been saved by their former foe Prince Lotor (A.J. Locascio), whose loyalties are under much scrutiny in the newest trailer for the Netflix animated series.

This is all much to the chagrin of evil Emperor Zarkon (Neil Kaplan), who declares “the dawn of a new age of warfare” as his son is now an outlaw of his people and a third of his empire reclaimed by the Paladins.

The war is in its most heated stage yet, and the trailer is full of battle, deception (or assumed deception), and action.

Watch it here:

“This whole thing is like making a deal with the devil,” says Lance (Jeremy Shada) of their tenuous partnership with Lotor—and who could blame him? The scheming prince certainly has a history of deceit, but his philosophical split with his family -- and being labeled a traitor -- could lead to him being a useful ally.

You’ll be able to find out how the war progresses—and whether this new ally dooms or saves the rebels—when the entire fifth season Voltron: Legendary Defender becomes available March 2 on Netflix.
