One of the benefits of shooting Black Panther concurrently with Avengers: Infinity War is that several key members of the cast were able to appear in both movies. As seen in the numerous trailers for the film, Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira, and Letitia Wright are all reprising their roles for Infinity War, just in time for the Avengers to bring their battle with Thanos right to their homeland of Wakanda.
For almost any other country, this would be a disaster waiting to happen. But Wakanda is by far the most technologically advanced nation in the world. If there’s a victory to be won, it will be alongside the Black Panther and his people. Now, in a new video featurette, Boseman, Gurira, and Wright are joined by Captain America himself, Chris Evans, as they set up Wakanda’s role in the climactic battle with Thanos.
**Spoiler Warning: There are mild spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War below**
According to Boseman, the connection T'Challa made with Steve Rogers in Captain America: Civil War led to his willingness to open Wakanda’s borders at humanity’s darkest hour. There’s also a very funny moment from the film when the heroes attempt to figure out if they are supposed to bow to T’Challa.
Gurira then speaks about Wakandan’s warriors as an elite fighting force that is more than capable of handling the global threat that Thanos represents. Evans is also effusive about the way that Marvel sets the stage for so many characters to share the spotlight in Infinity War. In Wakanda, several heroes will fight side by side for the first time, but there’s no guarantee that everyone will make it out alive.
Check out the entire featurette above, then let us know if you're even more psyched for Avengers: Infinity War to open this Friday, April 27.
