If the zombie apocalypse ever does come, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman wants to be ready. So he's designing this awesome, real-life zombie-proof car—just in case.

Part of a promotional deal with Hyundai, Kirkman has already created a zombie-killing ride for the Walking Dead comic, and plans to debut the real thing at Comic-Con.

The comic version looks like something out of Mad Max, so we can't wait to see this thing tearing up the real-life highway.

"I don't know a lot about cars, but I do know a lot about zombie apocalypse and what I would like to have to survive," Kirkman said of the stunt. "And so I think I'll be able to come up with something that looks cool but may not be very practical or effective because I'm not good with physics and stuff like that. But it seemed like a fun challenge."

Kirkman shows off some sketches and explains the design process in the video below:

Do you think this thing could handle the zombie hordes and survive?
