If fiction has taught us anything, it's that the dawn of the dead is coming and only those prepared will survive—for how long is anyone's guess, but a new website can, at least, point you in the right direction to get a decent head start.

Built on the Google Maps engine, Map of the Dead will take any location—that's already been indexed by Google—and point out potential Danger Zones (places with high concentrations of people, like cities and other man-made meccas), as well as hardware stores, military bases, gas stations, gun stores, transit hubs, etc.

All of this is neat ... but when the zombie apocalypse comes, there's not gonna be a whole lot of, you know, Internet left. What then? As the FAQ points out: "Use the handy print function to generate a hard copy."

Now, if only there were an app to help me pick which of my friends to sacrifice first ... oh, yeah: "Eeny, meeny, miney, moe."
