Even though we’re nearly 6 months away from the movie’s premiere, the first ever TV spot for Warcraft has been released. Huzzah!!!
The upcoming high fantasy movie from Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures is based on Blizzard Entertainment’s hit MMORPG videogame World of Warcraft which came out in 2004. Duncan Jones (David Bowie’s son) is helming the movie with a script co-written by him and Charles Leavitt. Jones is the one who gave us the excellent Moon starring Sam Rockwell (the movie's a particular favorite of mine), and Source Code with Jake Gyllenhaal.
Warcraft stars Vikings'
Ragnar Lothbrok Travis Fimmel as Sir Anduin Lothar, Fantastic Four’s Toby Kebbel as Orc chieftain Durotan, and True Blood’s Robert Kazinsky as the legendary Orgrim Doomhammer. All are WoW characters. Rounding up the cast are Paula Patton (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol), Ben Foster (X-Men: The Last Stand), Dominic Cooper (Agent Carter, Preacher), Clancy Brown (Sleepy Hollow), Ruth Negga (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Preacher) and Daniel Wu (Into the Badlands).
Because war is coming, enemies will unite, worlds will collides and friendships will be forged. Check out the first TV spot:
Here's the official movie synopsis:
The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home.
So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.
