Movie trailers are often notorious for including some awesome footage to make us super excited for an upcoming film ... but when comes the time to watch the movie, those specific scenes we were sooo looking forward to see on the big screen are nowhere to be found.
Well, that’s what we call a geek tease, and SYFY WIRE has created a list of some of the biggest ones, with Jackie Jennings on hand to take a look at 10 trailers promising us exciting scenes/sequences that were cruelly snatched away when the movie actually rolled into theaters.
As you can see, one of the most recent trailer geek teases had to do with Spider-Man: Homecoming. In the trailer, we see Spidey swinging around New York City with his mentor Iron Man in tow, the two heroes apparently going somewhere to do something ... when in reality this scene went absolutely nowhere because it never was included in the finished product.
Or what about that Rogue One scene in which we see Jyn Erso meeting a TIE fighter head-on while on the Imperial Databank … a scene that vanished from the finished product following the many reshoots and editing work done on the film.
Then there was the Justice League Comic-Con trailer that showed (or rather hinted at) Alfred meeting up with Superman in the Batcave, but as with Rogue One, the many reshoots done by Joss Whedon led to that particular scene ending up on the cutting-room floor.
Have a look at the video above to check out the seven other films that suffered the same ignominious geek tease fate, and let us know about other movies that had some great trailer scenes that never made it in the finished product.
