Honest Abe's had it up to here with civil war, slavery and vampires. Yes, vampires! The first trailer for Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has been released, and it's bloody fun!
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is based on the best-selling novel by Seth Grahame-Smith. It follows the former president as he rids the U.S. of bloodsuckers one ax swing at a time. A vampire destroyed his family, so it's fair to say he's holding a grudge.
The trailer for Vampire Hunter looks surprisingly good. Aesthetically, Benjamin Walker is believable as the title character. He's got the hair, the height and the muscles to destroy trees with one hit.
We can't wait to see future trailers in which they'll hopefully explore other main characters, like Lincoln's mentor Henry (Dominic Cooper) and his wife Mary Todd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).
Now that we've seen Burton and Bekmambetov's incarnation of Lincoln, we really want to see Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Make it so!
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter opens June 22.
