Directed by Ava DuVernay (Selma), Disney’s adaptation of Madeleine L'Engle's 1963 award-winning classic fantasy novel A Wrinkle in Time recently held its movie premiere in L.A. As some of you know, early reactions (there are no reviews yet) that have made their way online have been a mixed bag; while some who've had the chance to see the film are praising it, others are, well, doing the opposite.
A Wrinkle in Time stars Storm Reid stars as Meg Murry, the young heroine who goes on an intergalactic journey to save her missing scientist dad (played by Chris Pine) from an evil entity. The movie also stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Zach Galifianakis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, Levi Miller, and André Holland.
SYFY WIRE recently had the chance to talk to Reid via a red carpet interview during which the young actress opened up about what she's most excited about in the upcoming movie, set to premiere on March 9:
"To see Meg's journey,” Reid told us. "'Cause at the beginning of the book and the movie, Meg is just down and out. She doesn't have any love for herself, but through the journey, she embraces the light from within to be able to save the world and save her father. So to see Meg's journey and to inspire other younger women. You don't have to be perfect, but you can still be a superhero, you can still kick butt."
Reid had more to say about A Wrinkle in Time, so dig into our video above (and below!).
