Burt Ward's ebullient Robin the Boy Wonder in the classic '60s Batman TV series is an indelible component of the campy series' lasting legacy. He appeared beside the late, great Adam West's Caped Crusader in 120 episodes over the course of three seasons.
Ward reprises his vocal role this year in the upcoming DC animated feature Batman vs. Two-Face, the sequel to 2016's Return of the Caped Crusaders, complementing the final performance of West's timeless Dark Knight.
SYFY WIRE sat down with Ward, Batman vs. Two-Face director Rick Morales, supervising producer James Tucker, and producer Michael Jelenic at NYCC to learn about Ward's inseparable association with Robin, the new movie-length animated project's darker tone, referencing the vintage show's more serious first-season sensibilities, and the amusing recording sessions with William Shatner voicing Harvey Dent and his twisted alter-ego.
Batman vs. Two-Face arrives on DVD and Blu-ray on October 17.
