Fans have demanding change at Marvel Comics and this year promises to deliver on some of those most wanted. New Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski's Fresh Start initiative kicks off his first year in the crucial publishing position with four tenets: new creative teams, new titles, new directions, and new beginnings. Cebulski stopped by the SYFY WIRE Live Stage at C2E2 2018 to discuss all of the changes that fans can expect and be excited for.
"It's not a really a relaunch or reboot, but creatively, we're shaking things up," Cebulski told SYFY WIRE. Perhaps the biggest name in the Marvel stable right now is Jason Aaron, who has had his memorable run on the Star Wars monthly come to a close and an epic chapter of his Mighty Thor run end, too. Aaron will be writing Avengers now with artist Ed McGuinness, which will feature a revamped team that includes Black Panther, Doctor Strange and Robbie Reyes, the new Ghost Rider and POV character for readers to experience through, similar to what Kitty Pryde was with the Chris Claremont-John Byrne run of Uncanny X-Men.
Cebulski also teases about the Hunt for Wolverine, the return of the Fantastic Four with Dan Slott and Sara Pichelli, the possibility of a DC/Marvel crossover, a new story about Dazzler, and one upcoming title that he believes is going to take everyone by surprise. Check out the video interview below and let us know in the comments section which Marvel Fresh Start book has you excited.
