Three years ago, Matt Mercer and his fellow voiceover performers brought their Dungeons and Dragons game to Geek and Sundry in Critical Role. The live-streaming series has proven to be a big hit with D&D fans, and the cast recently launched a new campaign in which they took on new characters and challenges. On the final day of C2E2 2018, the Critical Role cast shared the stage in Chicago to take audience questions without the benefit of a moderator.
Joining Mercer for the panel were Laura Bailey, Liam O'Brien, Sam Riegel, Marisha Ray, Taliesin Jaffe, and Travis Willingham. Everyone on the panel was given a rockstar style introduction, which only seemed to energize the crowd. As a running gag, each of the panelists did "runway power walks" when they were given individual questions. Ray's power walk was one of the comedic highlights of the hour.
One of the first questions for the cast was about the most interesting things the narrative has given the characters, which allowed the cast to flesh them out. In giving their responses, the cast remarked how grateful they were that a young fan was wearing headphones so she couldn't hear their responses.
Fans also learned about the Harry Potter-style houses which would be founded by the new characters, and their favorite songs from the Critical Role/Hamilton mash up. On a much sillier note, the cast choose branded cereals for their characters. There's a lot more to come in the full panel, which you can watch now!
