Time travel looks to be a hot topic this fall, so we caught up with the cast of ABC’s new series Time After Time to talk about the challenges of bringing the classic tale of H.G. Wells to life (again).
The series essentially follows H.G. Wells as he chases Jack the Ripper to the present day, thanks to his real-life time machine. It’s a fun premise, and is based on the 1979 novel of the same name written by Karl Alexander. The story was previously adapted as a pretty awesome film in 1979, starring Malcolm McDowell.
The small screen series stars Freddie Stroma as H. G. Wells and Josh Bowman as John Stevenson/Jack the Ripper. We chatted with some cast members, plus executive producer Marcos Siega, about the process of putting a new spin on a story that’s already been told a few times. If you're looking for a throwback time travel tale on the small screen, this could do the trick.
