Valiant is gearing up to bring its comic universe to live action with the web series Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe, and we caught up with one of the stars to talk about what it’s like to play one of the series’ most iconic villains.
Chantelle Barry has signed on to play Roku in the live-action digital series, and told us all about what it’s like to do battle in the Valiant Universe. The series stars Michael Rowe (Arrow’s Deadshot) as Ninjak, and Valiant promises it’ll be one of the most ambitious digital projects ever conceived. Barry certainly sounded excited about bringing Roku to live action, and touched on everything from shelving her good girl image to how they’re going to bring the character’s weaponized hair to life.
She also teased plans to dig into Ninjak’s origin story, plus the themes about identity that will run throughout the project. Barry said she enjoyed finding the nuance in Roku and the motivations that would drive her character to do what she does.
Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe debuts in late 2017.
