People who bring pets onto planes under the condition of them being “service” or “comfort” animals have received some flack in the news these days. But Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard may just have them all beat in this comedy sketch from College Humor.
In this video, Pratt and Howard try to board a plane with what they describe as a service animal. Pratt insists that they’re “not just one of those bogus a-hole couples” that abuse the rules about bringing service animals on board commercial airlines, but the flight attendant at the front desk (Raphael Chestang) is having none of it.
Now, we typically like to be impartial journalists here at SYFY WIRE, but in this case, we’re going to editorialize and say we’re totally with the airline employee on this one. See for yourself why:
That’s right; the couple is trying to bring a Velociraptor named Blue aboard the plane. They contend that Pratt’s Owen Grady needs Blue to be with him always for “emotional support.”
When Howard’s Claire Dearing says that Blue “is a service animal,” the appalled flight attendant counters: “She’s a dinosaur!”
“I get anxiety and I need her to calm me down,” Pratt tells the attendant, to which Chestang’s rightfully terrified attendant responds with: “I’m getting anxiety just standing here!” Things...go downhill from there.
Anyway, it’s funny. Check it out.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom opens in theatres on June 22. Don’t bring pets. Unless of course they’re service animals.
